Apartment KN, Princesseflat +2, Amsterdam Beatrixpark, 2015

In 2013, the building (by architect Mart Stam, 1962) became a national monument and I advised the building board on the renovation of the communal areas.

Earlier, in 2010, I renovated an identical apartment on the fifth floor. (Apartment JM 2010)

Even more than the apartment of the fifth floor, this layout of the second floor is oriented towards the surrounding Beatrix Park.

On 120 m2, two work rooms, a spacious bedroom, a dressing room and a spacious living room have been created, with multiple sight lines towards the three orientations.

Everything is designed and executed at furniture maker level.

The strip parquet pattern corrects the proportions of the dining and sitting areas and strengthens the sight lines.
